As you make plans to head to the Neighborhood Conference on March 11th, take a minute to consider how you'll arrive. Instead of driving there alone, here are some suggestions to consider. If you try one of these ideas, log your trip with Smart Trips via our website or app (available for Android and Apple users). Logging trips at least 4 times a month gives you a chance to win one of our quarterly prizes!
Carpooling is always a great idea, but how do you find someone to ride with? Smart Trips has a one-time ridematching feature for special events to help pair you up with someone nearby! Just enter your starting point, where you're going, and date to see a list of others going to the Neighborhood Conference who want to carpool.
Free parking will be available at UT's 11th Street Garage, the Locust Street Garage, and the Supreme Court lot. There are plenty of other public parking locations if you prefer to park elsewhere.
Want a free ride to the conference? Leave the driving to KAT! Tell the driver you are going to the Neighborhood Conference at the Knoxville Convention Center. Once you're there, stop by the KAT booth before 12:15 to get your free bus pass for the ride home.
Five bus routes serve the Convention Center – #11 (Kingston Pike), #17 (Sutherland Ave.), #41 (Chapman Highway), #42 (UT/Fort Sanders Hospital), and #45 (Vestal). If you ride a different bus, you can either ride to Knoxville Station and walk or bike the ½ mile to the Convention Center or transfer to one of the above lines. It's easy to navigate now that KAT has paired up with Google Trips. Just go to Google maps on your computer or smartphone, enter your destination and choose the transit icon to see your options.
Want to bike? Check out our bike map and find a safe and easy way to get there from your starting location. You can also email us to ask for advice on a route. Whether you're riding all the way from home or are starting from a central spot, our maps can help you find the best way. If you're interested in riding on a greenway or signed bike route, our bike map shows public parking lots.
